Wellness Immersion provides teachers, counselors, and occupational therapists a firsthand experience of the benefits of various wellness and stress reduction techniques in a beautiful, retreat-like setting.
Each day features restorative and active yoga practices to calm our minds, rejuvenate our bodies and refresh our spirits. After our practice, we explore the Yoga Calm principles of Stillness, Listening, Grounding, Strength and Community through specially sequenced games and yoga-based activities. Each session ends with reflection, journaling and applications for your work setting. There will also be ample time for collegial sharing and dialogue, walking in parks, resting in gardens and renewing your spirit.
Overall, you will learn how to develop principle-based lesson plans incorporating Yoga Calm's curriculum of 60 wellness activities and processes, which are suitable for a wide range of settings and populations, including special-needs children. The workshop also provides a supportive environment in which to observe, practice-teach and develop new skills.
Topics covered in each Wellness Immersion include:
Three day Immersions qualify for 20 Washington Clock Hours and/or 2 PSU Graduate Credits available. Five day Immersions qualify for 30 Washington Clock Hours and/or 3 PSU Graduate Credits available. Certificate of training hours provided for all workshops (see accreditations).
